Kick off the summer season with Portland Greendrinks and the Maine Brewers’ Guild at Live at Madrid's on Tuesday, June 9th!

Join members of Maine’s brewing community, sustainability advocates, and local supporters for an evening of networking, conversation, and craft beverages in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Portland Greendrinks is part of the international Greendrinks network— an informal, volunteer-managed social networking community built around a shared interest in the natural environment and sustainability.

If you haven't been to a Greendrinks event before, here is some important info to keep in mind:

• 21+ event — please bring your ID
• Bring your own reusable cup or drinking vessel
• Compostable cups available at the door for $5
• Please leave pups at home
• Babies welcome if they can be worn
• Refunds available until the day of the event

Portland Greendrinks brings people together to connect with, learn about, and support local nonprofits– all over local brews and good food! 💚🍻

We host monthly events featuring organizations doing important work in our community. At our events, attendees enjoy tasting from local breweries, cideries, wineries, and distilleries as well as bites from local food vendors.

You can directly help families impacted by ICE! When you purchase select book(s) before or AT the event, those titles will go to I'm Your Neighbor Books (IYNB) for their work.

PRINT will, in turn, pass your book purchase to IYNB. The nonprofit will add your donation to their trauma-informed, hope-filled book boxes sent to families and classrooms impacted by detention or deportation.

I’m Your Neighbor Books’ Welcoming Library program has put over 40,000 Immigrant and New Generation children’s books into free circulation nationwide. With extensive multicultural representation and companion discussion materials, the program acts as an anti-racist toolkit, reducing anti-immigrant bias.

By placing children’s books featuring Immigrant and New Generation families in public spaces like schools and libraries, I’m Your Neighbor Books is creating genuine, story-based belonging for a multitude of immigrant identities and cultivating welcoming behaviors that transcend these public spaces. With false and racist rhetoric causing damage across the nation, books offer a safe, loving, and family-centered counter-narrative.

Because of the federal government’s anti-DEI orders, I’m Your Neighbor Books’ work has taken a hit to their mission and funding. Schools and libraries nationwide have canceled projects with the nonprofit due to fear that the federal government will penalize them for reading about and discussing immigrant families.This hit to their ability to reach schools could not come at the worst time. Books are crucial to building a future where every child’s story is highlighted and valued. Donors are stepping up to help the nonprofit circumnavigate those barriers to building belonging—with books.

I'm Your Neighbor Books work is founded on the evidence that reading changes us. When we see ourselves represented in books, we feel a sense of belonging. When we see others in books, we establish a human connection.

The nonprofit uses Immigrant and New Generation books to elicit this dual experience. Guiding the conversation, the nonprofit highlights human connection to reduce anti-immigrant bias and uses the reader’s connection to self to build belonging.
