If you are traveling along Route 1 in Maine this holiday weekend, you may see two of our projects under construction. Pat's Pizza in Yarmouth will be expanding it's takeout area and creating a new accessible entry to pick up your food or enjoy ice cream on the outside deck. Don't worry, you can still access the take out area during the renovation! Green Pest Defense in Freeport has their exterior siding and windows installed, and you can see their sign from Interstate 295. Both of these projects will be finished this summer, so stop on in and see how they can serve you. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

I am happy to see that Blended, a co-working and smoothie bar is now open in Windham! I worked with Storm and Haley McGovern to create permit drawings for two units, and before they finished construction they expanded it into three units. This is a great location to work collaboratively or in a private office, or hold business events. Storm and Haley did a great job creating a unique environment to work and meet up. Congratulations!

The snow has finally melted enough to take a photo of the Maine Optometry location in Standish. SRL Architects have been pleased to work with them in other locations in Southern Maine designing interior renovations. This was our first addition and renovation for them and it was a vast improvement over the previous structure which was built as a small post office. We look forward to working with them again!

If you grew up in Orono, Maine, you probably have a soft spot in your heart for Pat's Pizza. I know I do. I was very happy to work with the Pat's in Scarborough to bring the dining room up from the basement to the ground floor and make it accessible to all the patrons who want to dine there. Now I am working with Chris Kyle at the Yarmouth location to improve their take-out area. It will be enlarged and connected to the dining room entrance, which will make it accessible to all the patrons who want to dine in or take out. The best part? I get to eat my pizza while doing a site visit!

With new build, Green Pest Defense expands in Freeport The company outgrew its former office at 298 U.S. Route 1 in Freeport and is replacing it with a significantly larger building, projected to be completed this summer.

If you are driving along 295 or Route 1 in Freeport, Maine, you will see the the Green Pest Defense building emerging from the snow. This project with Doten's Construction has been in the works for a while, and it is great to see it starting to take shape! It is just one of the clients that SRL Architects has been working with this year, and we look forward to its completion in the spring.

I love it when a plan comes together! We celebrated the opening of minibar this week at the soft opening and ribbon cutting. It took every one on the team, from Kevin Moschella's vision, drive and good humor, Boulos to find the right location, MW Hoss to build it, Words@Work to promote it, LogoOwl to provide clever swag, Paquin&Carroll to insure it, Empire Cleaning to clean it, and of course SRL Architects to create the architectural design with the help of Jeanne Handy for interior design, among countless others of folks behind the scenes. If you get a chance to drop by the Grand Opening tonight you will find 18 holes of miniature golf, great food and drink, a warm welcome and lots of laughs. Congratulations Kevin!

Registration is open for Wildcats Gymnastics, located behind the Ramada on Riverside Street. It has been a pleasure working with Devon Saloga and her two sons to transform a large convention ballroom into a school for children to learn gymnastics. Just one more fun project for SRL Architects to see come to life in Portland!

This continues to be a fun project to work on. It is likely the opening will be later in the summer, but MW Hoss will be great contractors to get it open for business!
