She Escaped the Rat Race for a Tiny House on a Farm! 03/06/2026

Hi, I’m Matt Bibeau. Part of the content of the permaculture design course (PDC) is an exploration of the ways we can lessen our impact and how to apply technology in an appropriate way. In our upcoming PDC I’ll be teaching at Jeans Farm, one of the examples will be the tiny house we built on-site that has the ability to be fully independent of city electricity and water. Enjoy this documentary made about our tiny home, and consider enrolling in the course! It runs one weekend/month beginning in April. https://www.pdxpermaculture.org/pdc/weekend

The City of Minneapolis is breaking ground on the first city-owned and operated biochar facility in North America.

Biochar is a specialized charcoal created by heating wood waste to 600 degrees Celsius in a low-oxygen environment. The Minneapolis biochar facility will be located at 670 25th Ave. SE with the annual capacity to:
• Process over 3,000 tons of wood waste.
• Produce over 500 tons of biochar.
• Remove nearly 3,700 tons of carbon dioxide—the equivalent of taking 789 cars off the road.

Watch our news conference at noon https://www.youtube.com/live/EwyR4fEkogo
