Stop and SEE the Nature

White naped crane…. Cranes are a cool bird they are big but graceful. Something that other large birds like the Ostrich and Emu are missing. The Shoebill crane is the exception, 😳 it’s like the creepy relative no one wants to admit is part of their family 😆

Camouflage: an animal's natural coloring or form that enables it to blend in with its surroundings…. Yep. That pretty much sums it up right there.

If cute had an animal I’m pretty sure this would be it. What do you think?

Sometimes when you’re setting up for a shot something unexpected happens. When that happens you hold your breath adjust the focus as fast as you can and shoot. Sometimes it works 😅. That’s what happened here. I was getting ready to shoot a hippo and this guy darts out from the hippos pond and headed across the road with lunch. He was so fast I thought it would just be a blur but they turned out in focus. Not sure what kind of weasel this is.

I think this is a Northern Checkerboard butterfly. Smaller than a Swallowtail... First time seeing one. I saw a few different this day but they were flying more than landing.

I drove up to Steigerwald yesterday for the time. I mean I've been there before but it's the first time I drove. My camera battery died after a few pics and the back up batteries were dead too 😩 so I used my phone camera for a few pics. This is one of them.

The Gresham Arts Festival is next week! Mom and I have been busy getting everything ready for the booth. I'm going to be on Main st in Gresham right in front of the Pho restaurant. I will have lots of framed pics and this year I'll have some canvas photos available too. Photo jewelry and a special coupon for grads, families and headshot pics. Hope you can stop by and say hi.
