It's almost September, and that means it's ime to recycle our how-to video for setting up the cider press. Reservations are open! There are two ways to reserve a press:

1. Come down to the MTL during our open hours Wednesday afternoon or Saturday morning and ask our volunteer librarian to sign you up.

2. Email us at [email protected] with a couple of dates that will work for you and a good phone number to reach you.

Our in-demand presses are half-week loans, meaning if you take it on a Saturday, it comes back at the very beginning of Wednesday's shift, and vice versa. (PSA: Please be sure you CLEAN the press before you bring it back, because otherwise... well yuck.)

Funny how we were a lot more excited about National Digital Learning Day a couple of Februarys ago... Still, what could be better on a snowy day than brainstorming, watching a couple of DIY videos, and planning your next building project?

Multiple distractions have resulted in sketchy hours and communications recently, for which apologies all round. But we'll be open this Saturday from 9 - 1.

This Thursday is National Digital Learning Day. So whether chateau or shed, now is a great time to watch some DIY videos, check our online inventory, and come get the tools you need at the Portland Tool Library! We are open Wednesday from 4 - 7 and Saturday from 9 - 1.

UPDATE: There are still a couple of Wednesday slots available for the hydraulic press. The wooden press has general Wednesday and Saturday availability beginning 10/6. Please reserve now to avoid disappointment!

The Tool Library will be closing fifteen minutes early today, at 12:45, so please plan ahead and arrive early to borrow or return your tools!

In the interest of community health, and to keep our little corner of the world safe for our immune-compromised members, those with young children, and other vulnerable individuals, we continue to require masks at the Tool Library.

Gentle reminder that our ever-popular cordless mowers are HALF-WEEK loans. So if you borrow on a Saturday, it's due on Wednesday. If you borrow on Wednesday, it's due Saturday. Thank you for helping us keep them available to all!
