I TOLD YA. An old slogan getting a new wave of attention.
Skipping over the story (the pictures say enough), it’s the words that stuck with me. Presidential or not, there’s a brash ego to them. Something one-sided and dismissive.
It’s a tone that feels right at home in the moment. Personally, I would love to see something more conversational in the world. More about listening than about telling.
So, because I also love flipping the script on things, here is our take. The I HEAR YA tee.
DM if interested.

Like the skies of a future
I’ll never see

I never intended to make this shirt. The only reason it came about was because I accidentally screwed up while attempting to make another one. Instead of scrapping the mistake, though, I decided I would try to salvage it.
That night, after ruining my screen, I went to bed and began thinking about the entire construct of mistakes. We make them often. They’re inevitable. You could say they’re necessary. But ultimately we choose how to respond to them in their wake.
“Necessary Mistakes” is my creative response to a simple misstep. It’s a metaphor for how I would ideally handle all mistakes in my life — with reflection, some imagination and positivity.
The silkscreen is a 3 color print, including a 2-color split fountain. To achieve the desired layering effect the black was laid down in two separate passes (black, then the red/orange split fountain, then another layer of black). The shirt itself is 100% recycled cotton made ethically in Los Angeles.
