Prabashi Association Portland

Prabashi Portland Association was honored to bring Taraye Taraye, one of the most acclaimed productions of Bengali theatre, to Portland. Presented by the renowned theatre group Swapnasandhani and directed by the celebrated theatre personality Kaushik Sen, based on Srijato’s novel Tara Bhora Akasher Niche, the play explored the complexities of human relationships, dreams, loneliness and love. The production’s emotional depth and artistic brilliance left us spellbound.

A huge shoutout to our talented local actors Anandi, Amrita, Ratul, Parbati da, Rituparna, Sourodeep. It was an incredible performance by them too with just a single rehearsal the day before.

Special thanks to Bhaskarda and Mohona for helping with the sound and Sthitodhi for helping with the lights which brought out the essence of the play beautifully.

We are grateful to Puranjan who has beautifully captured the moments and the memories of this event.

Swapnasandhani visited Portland for the very first time, and they embraced the city with all their heart. From its scenic corners and coffee shops to the food, conversations, and warmth of the people, every experience seemed to leave a mark.

Whether it was Surangana saying that Portland felt like a home away from home, or Kaushik da remarking that some places have a certain vibe that simply makes you want to return, their words couldn’t have made us happier.

As hosts, there is no greater joy than seeing artists you admire connect so deeply with the city and the community. We couldn’t have been more excited—or more grateful—to share Portland with them.

পর্দা উঠবে, গল্প শুরু হবে। তবে গল্প শেষ হলেও সন্ধেটা শেষ হবে না। নাটক শেষে থাকছে শিল্পীদের সঙ্গে সরাসরি সাক্ষাৎ ও কিছু স্মৃতি ফ্রেমবন্দি করে রাখার সুযোগ।
