This definitely ain’t my first rodeo… but it’s actually gonna be my first Oregon one! I’m so excited to partner with .shuffle on this fun pre-game PRE-RODEO brunch event ~ filled music, vendors, DRANKS! photo shoots etccccc 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🤠 The last slide shows the menu I’m coming through with ~ chicken and waffle bites, grits, yams, my infamous greens and fruit for your sustinence through all the fun! Come through grab a plate take some ticks with your fly selves! Yeehaw!

Absolutely nothing like the trifecta of chocolate strawberry and vanilla Neapolitain ice cream ~ but I usually swap vanilla for coconut!
just a reminder, that even though the shop is closed (until I can figure out the next move 😩🙏🏼) I still offer catering and custom orders!

Here’s the thing, if I love you, I’m going to fight for you.
Since being blessed with occupancy of this space, my neighbors have become my friends. My family. And there’s no way I’m going to let them sink. Shoot, I’m fighting for my life here too, but dammit I’m gonna go in swinging with them!

Sometimes I make really fancy things…
The theme of this and challenge was Local abundance
indeed!
Black Diamond cake:
Named for all the beautiful biking, hiking and skiing trails here in the gorgeous and abundant PNW!
comprised of A sponge cake baked with blackberry purée and black tea (a local Tea purveyor)
I used Marion/blackberry purée by another amazing local purveyor
The flour is produced by for local flour, local free range Eggs are from
And then I used and butter in the batter!
Reduced the black tea with foraged lavender into a syrup then made a sauce with brown sugar, butter, and condensed milk For the luscious caramel-y topping,
White chocolate mousse in the center and adorned with candied lemon peel and chantilly cream

Iiiit’s back! Labouyi Banan, one of my favorite Haitian dishes turned cheesecake!
What is it, you ask? Well, it’s a simple yet nourishing plantain porridge- blended green plantains cooked till it thickens with coconut milk, star anise and cinnamon, butter and vanilla usually served up warm for breakfast!
But of course in my culinary exploration I wondered if it would cheesecake, and it did… beautifully✨🍰✨

When I dumped prickly pear puree into the batter it was a bright pink ~ through and through~ but when this thang came out the oven it looked like a sunset in the desert for real!
