Olympic Cross-Country Skiers Eat 8,000 Calories a Day. It’s Exhausting. Cross-country skiers require, on average, more daily calories than any other type of athlete. But the constant need to eat can take over their lives.

Four skiers made it up to the TJ Guardhouse for one of the club volunteer weekends. What a great place to stay on Mt. Hood! Not quite as much snow as we'd like down low but plenty of snow up above.

Ken Wenzel successfully led the Mt. Adams Lodge Joint ONC-PDX and WSTC Outing. 19 skiers joined for this outing. Not as much snow as we'd like but there were skis on feet for at least one day. Full write up in ONC newsletter

No Snow Ochoco. But we still had a great time on this trip with bushwacking through the woods, fine food and wine, and we even managed a few days of skiing.

In spite of the naysayer's four dedicated skiers headed out on the Government camp encirclement tour. They overcame, hills, ice, snow, traffic and monsters. And they had fun all along the way.
