To attain balance, educators must take time for rest and create work boundaries as the foundation of their professional practice. We must ensure that we are healthy by creating limits on what we can accomplish in a week. To support wellness and rejuvenation, try to take at least one entire day off per week. As educators, we always have projects in the works. Planning, gathering materials, creating documentation, and thinking about the past week's challenges often consume our time away from the classroom. Choosing to take at least one day per week off helps educators avoid burnout. Taking one day to participate in an activity you enjoy prepares the mind and body for the challenges and joys of the week ahead.
