How empowered am I to turn this around from $1-$100,000? 🌈 I took the first step by buying a house with a detached deck a couple years ago that had tons of potential, despite its leaning structure hidden beneath heaps of old junk and scrap. Finally, I've saved up enough to clear the way and uncover the truth. πŸ’ͺ What can I do now to revitalize this deck and wall without a total teardown? πŸ€” The deck is 12’x15’, about 6-7’ off the ground, built on a sturdy 4” thick concrete pad, and with a rich history that predates modern building codes and permits. Let's do this! πŸ’₯

When this house was flipped about 10 years ago, the moron sized the doors in the basement without carpet, then added carpet. So the doors drag on the carpet and the hinge screws are starting to work. The problem is that these are hollow doors. Does anyone know if this type of door would have enough solid material to trim off the bottom 1/4” or so? I will also need to do this with a set of bifolding closet doors.

I’m thinking if there is not enough solid wood, I could still cut the bottom of the door off and add a piece of 1x1” to the bottom with brad nails to close the bottom back off and add rigidity back. And for the bifolding doors, I’ll still need to put the post on which the door rotates back in, so I’d be in the same situation where either there is enough solid material or I can add it back in. Anyone tried something similar?

I'm trying to convince my husband we need a taller console table for our soundbar to hide the cords and reduce clutter. Help me convince him less is more for this space. The tree is seasonal and not always there.

Just wanted to post my new dining room. I'm pretty proud of myself, a single mom of three with limited funds. I spent $150 on the rug, table, chairs, and hutch, and $100 on refinishing supplies. It looks amazing!

May not be a lot to you, but to me it is. From jail to prison to rehab to having my own place was a dream. Thank God I actually got to see it happen.

Help me prevent shower mold! Water constantly pools under my bottles in the niche, causing mold in the sealant. I need suggestions for a small item or mat (approx. 6cm wide) for the bottles to sit on that allows for drainage and airflow. What do you recommend?
