Largest cycling club in Maine PVC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. The cycling club is open to all comers.

PVC sponsors 5 weekly local rides during the season, including development rides, women's rides and fast-paced group rides.

Spurwink Road Phase 2 Begins March 23rd

Road work begins on Spurwink Road for Phase 2 of the improvement project on Monday, March 23. It is anticipated to be complete by the end of June. The project will be on Spurwink Road from Pleasant Hill Road to the Cape Elizabeth town line. Phase 1, from Pleasant Hill Road to Ocean Avenue, was completed in 2023.

The scope of this project includes a road realignment, and the addition and improvement of pedestrian and bicycle amenities. It will also address the dangerous curves and intersections to the greatest extent possible, as well as improve road surface and drainage issues.

Please be aware and anticipate potential delays.

Get your bikes and your best fall gear ready! We are excited to announce our annual Fall Fondo, a non-competitive group ride designed to celebrate the changing season and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It's a fantastic opportunity to ride with friends, meet new members, and take on some of our favorite local routes.

Fall is coming and with it the sun is setting earlier and earlier. 🍂🍁 But group rides are continuing, please join us! It’s not to late to show up even if you haven’t made it to one all summer.

🚲 The Women’s Wednesday Night Ride A Group will leave at 5:30pm tonight to accommodate the earlier sunset. B Group is still leaving at 6:00pm. Both rides start at the Emmaus Lutheran Church on Middle Road in Falmouth.

🚲 The Coed Wednesday Night Ride leaves from South Portland High School at 5:30pm.

Ride of Silence | Bicycle Coalition of Maine 05/02/2025

The Ride of Silence, an annual international bicycle ride will be hosted in Portland by the BCM on Wednesday May 21st, 2025 at 6:30. The ride honors road users who have been injured or killed by traffic violence while bicycling, raises awareness that bicyclists have a legal right to use the road, and reminds motorists to respectfully share the road with all users. Join cyclists worldwide in a silent, slow-paced ride to commemorate those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. The ride will meet in the parking lot of CycleMania 65 Cove St, Portland, ME 04101.

Sundays on the Boulevard is back! 🤸 Starting May 4 Baxter Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic Sundays only, 9AM-4PM, and OPEN for walkers, bikers, and pedestrian traffic. This year Sundays on the Boulevard runs through September 28, 2025.⁠ Learn more: https://bit.ly/4i6FtVq.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: Baxter Boulevard from Vannah Ave. to Catafalque Dr. (Payson Park east entrance), and the Payson Park west entrance road from the tip of the grass triangle to Baxter Boulevard shall be closed to traffic. (𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: Sundays on the Boulevard will be suspended on Sunday, August 3 to accommodate the Back Cove Music & Arts Festival taking place in Payson Park.)
