Flying Tortoise Academy is an integrated moment studio in NE Portland specializing in Internal Kung Fu and Capoeira. (www.flyingtortoise.org)
Portland Movement Arts rebranded this winter to "Flying Tortoise Academy." We will remain the your neighborhood space to practice healing art forms from a multitude of cultures. We find strength and balance in practices from India, China, Russia and South Korea. Moving forward we will continue to provide a safe space for LGBTQ and ethnically diverse students and teachers. Wishing a very Happy Birthday to G**o Dan Inosanto!!! I only had three years at the Inosanto Academy, but that time was transformative. Learning from G**o Dan and teaching in his academy was one of the great pleasures of my career. I am forever grateful for his example in how to age as a martial artist and above all in how to treat the people around you in this field.
