My end of the summer vacay has so far included 5 days in the beautiful Upper Peninsula, Michigan, 5 swims in Lake Superior, 1 wild blueberry galette, 1 canceled flight 😡, 2 feral 🐱, 2 Painted Buntings, 1 awesome thunderstorm, and 1 coffee Frappuccino with whipped cream. 🤔

NW Marine Art Works is having it’s 5th Annual Summer Open Studio this Saturday & Sunday, July 8th + 9th, from 10am - 4pm. Visit the studios where some of Portland’s best art is created, and shop directly from talented makers. Artists from North Coast Seed Building, Carton Service Building and River St Studios will be showing & selling their work as well.

With more than 65 artists participating, you’ll find paintings, prints, fine art, ceramics, photography, sculpture, mixed media, glass, jewelry, apparel and more!

Support local artists, listen to live music, and enjoy local bites and sips while touring this remodeled industrial complex… Tastebuds will be tickled with local food & drink .meatmarket !!

This quintessential Portland experience highlights the vibrancy of Portland's art scene and has become an annual event adored by both locals and out-of-towners.

BONUS: NWMAW is excited to host their inaugural SMALL ART / BIG GIVE fundraising event at this July’s Open Studios. Dozens of artists will create 6"x6" original works to raise money for one of Portland’s exceptional nonprofits. 100% of sales will benefit , who offers a professional studio, art programs, and a creative community for adults with autism & developmental disabilities, allowing many to enjoy independent careers in the arts.

I think this change will be good. Retail spaces in Portland are too expensive right now for small studios. Plus daily hours are a real bummer when you just want to go out and explore Oregon and other beautiful places 🤩
