We are gutted by the news that another person was killed by ICE, this time in our home state of Maine. We send our deepest condolences to Johan Sebastian Guerrero’s wife, child, and loved ones.

All of us deserve a world where we can raise our kids without the fear of police violence, where all people are welcomed and valued. We are devastated that families are being torn apart by cruel and violent policies and agencies. One of SAFE Maine’s organizational values is respect for families and communities: we believe that the fundamental human right to build families in safe, sustainable communities is an essential component of bodily autonomy. The fight to end the violent policing of communities across our country is intertwined with the fight for reproductive freedom.

-We can help you get to and from an in-person appointment by connecting you with a compassionate volunteer driver or by sending gas money

This decision will have a devastating impact on abortion seekers in Maine - particularly those of us who live in the most rural areas. Currently about 27% of Mainers access medication abortion via telehealth.

Let's be clear: this is not about safety, it is about control. Mifepristone is a safe medication that has been used by millions of people for over two decades.
