June is Pride Month—a time to celebrate, reflect, and stand with our LGBTQIA+ community. At UCP Oregon, we honor the diverse identities and experiences within our community, including those of our clients, families, and staff.
This month (and always!), we're proud to recognize the strength and resilience of LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially those living with disabilities. We celebrate you.

Hello, UCP Community.
Many of you know Wilma Smeeton. She has announced her retirement after being part of UCP Oregon for an astonishing 32 years!
Over the years, Wilma worked in a variety of roles, including Assistant Team Leader and Personal Assistant in UCP's Supported Living Department.
Wilma, thanks for your many years of service at UCP, and best wishes in your new endeavors. We’ll miss you! 🩵

GAB Groups are safe, compassionate spaces where parents and caregivers raising children with disabilities can talk openly, listen, share, and connect. GAB Groups are always facilitated by fellow parents, so you’ll be welcomed by someone who truly understands what it’s like.

We wanted to share a quick update on the 2026 Bill Porter Memorial Fund. The application period is now closed, and we received 84 applications. Woo hoo!
Thank you to everyone who applied—and to anyone who helped someone through the process.
Our review team now has the fun (and challenging!) job of working through 84 wonderful requests. We'll share a timeline for final decisions soon. Stay tuned!

GAB Support Groups provide a safe, compassionate space for parents and caregivers to connect with fellow parents raising a child with cerebral palsy or another disability. These groups are facilitated by parent volunteers, creating a supportive, understanding environment to vent, share challenges and joys, seek advice, listen, and talk openly in a non-judgmental space--reminding you that you are not alone!
