ACID Architecture

New project kick-off!

Excited to get going on this fun and special project- a mother-in-law new-build on a family compound in beautiful Dallas, OR.

Did you know that ACID is an acronym? We’re not just good time gals (although we are a good time 😂)! ACID stands for:

D esign

We pride ourselves on a novel and creative perspective, and our name encompasses the many facets of our practice. Our work draws influence from art, pop culture, music, film, and iconography, making resonant spaces for all.

We don’t see ourselves as only architects- we consider ourselves artists and designers too. We’re not overly concerned with sophistication and decorum- we’re fun! And our enthusiasm bleeds into all aspects of our practice and projects.

We love experimentation, color, and craft, and we always work hard to keep it light.

Some sad news hit our inbox this week - the Leach Botanical Garden is in trouble 😞 cuts to the city budget have put this important public asset at risk of closure by March. Please see their page and support this beloved public treasure

It’s been a long time in the making, but our cabin at Kanine Ridge is coming right along!

New kitchen in the works!

Initial plan concepts for a kitchen & dining room with easy outdoor access ✨

We won’t be winning any high design awards with this one 🥹 because this project is entirely focused on improved functionality for an admirable mission.❤️ We are so proud and happy to design a practical upgrade for our wonderful partners

Eastern Oregon Mission supports the Hermiston area and the surrounding communities- providing food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and other vital services to folks in need. This project will be their new operations facility, and a major upgrade for their organization.

Concept study for a sweet little planned community in Sandpoint, ID.

We worked alongside our longtime pals to develop material and conceptual planning for a new community of townhomes in Northern Idaho. We derived inspiration from Scandinavian design and craftsmanship, and included details such as profiled banisters and rafter tails to make this development feel special and timeless.

The PUD is in the final stages of approval, so stay tuned for updates!

It’s been awhile! Here is a glimpse of what we’ve been working on- some houses, some community workshops, and some admiration for maps!

OPENING NIGHT! 🎭

It’s opening night , and we’re so excited to spotlight our involvement in their practice space and community center. This was a passion project for us during our time at SERA Architects, and is a wonderful allegory for everything the Playhouse represents: a fixture in the community, open to the neighborhood, welcoming to all, and fun to look at!

The rehearsal space has sprung wood floors, full acoustic design, and a woodshop for prop construction. The building sits adjacent to the lovely historic church that houses the theater, and the two share a courtyard that is open at all times (no locked gates here!) and used for events and community gatherings.

The Playhouse is located in the King neighborhood, and they put on amazing plays (we love going to their production of A Christmas Carol every year!). Grab some tix for Season 18 at the link in our bio 🔗
