Old-fashioned diners offer comfort and familiarity, but they could be a dying breed in Portland Northeast Portland's Cully neighborhood lost a longtime fixture after the Prescott Cafe closed its doors for good with the owner's retirement. Industry experts say ever-changing restaurant trends don't leave much room for eateries like this.

WE ARE OFFICIALLY CLOSING!

After 28 years as Prescott Cafe, 25 with Rose with 14 of her owning, it's time for her to retire.

We're so grateful for to all of our customers, old and new, for supporting us through the years!

Come see us one last time, even if it's just to wish Rose a happy retirement 🙂

Some of you have noticed and inquired about our boarded up windows:

WE ARE STILL OPEN! Our usual days and hours.

Unfortunately, we made the decision to board up the windows because we had two of them broken: bricks thrown through. Not to break in and/or steal anything, just pure destruction.

Due to the size of the windows and the customization it would require to replace them, the expense is just too much at this time. It was more cost effective to just board them all up to prevent further damage.

We're still here, we're still holding on, and we appreciate all of your support!

Due to a slow start in our re-opening for To-Go, our hours are temporarily changing from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (instead of opening at 7:00 AM).

We appreciate everyone's patience, as we try and figure out the best way to operate through all of this.

Brief update: we are likely to stay closed until everything can open 100%

With the cafe as small as it is, it does not make sense for us to open, when we would only be able to seat a handful of tables at a time.
