6 years ago we walked off the AT and celebrated in Portland Maine with a blueberry beer and lobster roll. This year we went back explored Maine and reflected on all that happened during our hike and the last 6 years. We have changed as individuals, the family has changed, and our relationship has changed. The beer and lobster roll are the same. 🦞🍺❤️

6 years ago today we finished the entire length of the Appalachian Trail — 2189 miles from Georgia to Maine. In many ways its feels like a dream. In some ways it feels like yesterday. The trail changed and formed us and gave us a new reference point for how we see normal life. We’re thankful for the opportunity the trail afforded and the people we met. Hike on.

Some of you remember my friend of 25 years, Andy. I featured him in our 2022 marathon doc. I wrote about him in my new book but forgot to tell him. He ordered a copy and sent me this text. As an author I feel an incredible weight to tell a story well partially because I’m not just telling my story. I’m weaving together a tapestry of many people’s stories. Nothing makes me happier than when the people who know me and my story are proud. Sometimes I struggle with how to be a good friend but this made me feel like the best thing I can do is shine my light in the best way I know how and just do my think. Ima keep on writin for Andy and the other peeps out there.
