It's been a long lonely pandemic and I'm so stoked to be doing outdoor events again, starting with Zoiglfest here at The ZED PDX today. Pictured is my lovely assistant in the booth I barely remembered how to set up 😅 and of course an array of (mostly) Halloween candles. Shared a table with another artist on Alberta for Last Thursday yesterday. We had a wonderful time! I love the modified stop sign. Definitely doing it again next month! ❤

I'm excited to announce a few upcoming local vending events:

7/25: Last Thursday Alberta Arts on NE 14th Place between Alberta and Wygant. I'll be set up on a friends' driveway with a couple other vendors. 3-6 p.m.

7/27: Lents Garage Sale. This is my second year participating in this event. It's sponsored by Green Lents, and it's awesome! I'll be set up at 6408 SE 85th Avenue, between Duke and Tolman. In addition to candles, I'll also be selling books and clothes. 11 a.m. through 4 p.m.

We burned my prototype beeswax candles at our Halloween party, and they performed heroically! I used a new-to-me type of wick (square-braid vegetable wax as opposed to my usual soy wax wicks) for these, based on what was recommended for use with beeswax. I loved how cleanly and evenly they burned! We got 60-90 minutes of burn time out of each candle, which is great. Can't wait to make more! Hope you enjoy the pictures! Have a great day, everyone! 🌞

These are the beeswax candles I made with that donated beeswax I was talking about. It was really fun! I just sort of played with the material and tried to get the technique down. I'm really pleased with how they came out! Now I just have to refine the process a little more so they all come out the same circumference, and I can star offering them for sale! Hi everyone! I'm in the midst of the busiest season of the retail year, so I haven't had a moment to post lately.

I wanted to let you know that I did post some extra candles from the "Beertopia" series I made for the Zoiglhaus Lager Fest on my Etsy store.

Also, at my pop-up sale for the Green Lents Neighborhood Garage Sale, I had some folks express interest in beeswax candles. I said I had plans to develop a beeswax line. Well, I ordered some beeswax from a new supplier, and the order got totally botched and never shipped (I won't be using them again!). However, I did recently get some beeswax donated to me, so at long last, I am able to start developing prototypes for a beeswax line! Rest assured, the requests for beeswax candles have not gone forgotten, and thank you for your patience!

I'm already hard at work making my Winter and Christmas products, so stay tuned for pictures of those. I've refined some of my fragrances and designs from last year to offer even better products.

For the longest time, I've been wanting to do a series of candles about what Oregonians do well, and get excited about. Obviously, beer is at the top of that list. I am excited to be vending at Zoiglhaus Brewing Company's Lager Fest tomorrow. I came up with these cute beer-themed candles in honor of the occasion! Come out to Zoiglhaus in Portland tomorrow, and drink some great lagers, meet some new friends, and get some adorable souvenir candles! We're heading towards my favorite holiday again! I have expanded my offerings accordingly. Unless marked unscented, I have used my traditional Halloween House Blend, "Sweet Brimstone" as the fragrance. It encompasses the expectancy of an upcoming storm, wood smoke, and hints of fruit, flowers and spice to counterbalance the smokiness.
