The Food Delivery Solidarity Project is a volunteer project of men cooking and delivering meals for women, femmes, and gender nonconforming activists.
A volunteer collaboration of male-identified people supporting women, femmes, and gender nonconforming activists in the Portland community via a meal delivery service. The idea is that men (or anyone who wants to, but this is targeted at cis men) will bring locally cooked prepared meals and/or CSA farm veggies to support, and help make visible, the women, femmes, and gender nonconforming folks who
do endless amounts of extra labor (not to mention making less $/hour) fighting the patriarchal systems in our culture. We're ALWAYS in search of people who want to try this volunteer cooking project out. We only require a one night commitment, but obviously long term interest is nice too. Please fill out the "Volunteer Cook/Delivery Intake Form at our website, https://sites.google.com/view/fooddeliverysolidarityproject or reach out to us at [email protected] if you're interested. The goal here is not some big revolutionary act, and certainly not to downplay the many other things men should be doing to challenge patriarchy. It's merely a little extra help for hard working activists who could benefit from delicious free food and, hopefully, a starting point for good conversations and community support from men to break down institutionalized sexism / inequality on the ground.
