Mission: To Enhance the Veteran Experience at Portland Community College - Southeast Leads The Way!

I had the privilege of playing a small role in the development of the SE campus PCC Student veterans group -along with professor James Pepe and others back around 2014. At the time, the school had just begun developing this kind of support. I am no longer a direct contributor to this page, but am utterly grateful to see the resource/group still exists!

From my time at PCC I went on to build a career in public health and clinical social work. And today I work in a military program treating active duty and veteran trauma, moral injury, and substance use. I am continually working to develop greater access to resources and support for this community and am honored to notice today that the page is still here and has some activity. We never know how much impact small contributions can have toward the growth of others! And, as the saying goes, “slow is smooth and smooth is fast”. -Matt Matteini, CSWA-MPH

“All of us might wish at times that we lived in a more tranquil world, but we don't. And if our times are difficult and perplexing, so are they challenging and filled with opportunity.”

-Robert Kennedy
