What she couldn’t bear resembled spilled milk.
His public life open, private life hidden beyond her ken.
Cards held close to his chest."

"I drew this series over the last six months while I began making peace with past traumas that have stemmed from my identity being female including pains from my childhood. No matter what the social circumstances may be around me, I always know where to return to."

"The abstracted imagery is suggestive of female anatomy to raise awareness and reference menstruation. Mr. Goodbar — VoiceCatcher 07/09/2022

"The cure for loneliness is love, someone wrote. I want affection, attention and sentiment with my s*x. Consensual, but there's a skeleton in my lingerie drawer." Powerful essay by Elizabeth Wadsworth Ellis on the blog now.

Mr. Goodbar — VoiceCatcher My brother held a stag party with a 35mm scurrilous film on our dining room wall with a keg of tapped beer. After watching the film a cousin broke my drunken h***n in the passenger seat of his red car saying, “I always liked you best.” I was 15 years old. His wife was pregnant with their first c...

For our Summer Series on Feminism, we start with Maneesa Veeravel, an artist who uses grief and heritage to shape their art. Read "Matriarchy and Other Works", on our blog now.
