How has your Lenten Journey been going? Have you kept your Lenten sacrifices? What have you learned or experienced since Lent began? We are all on a journey back to the Father. How have you experienced God's love? We're reliving our Lent Retreat as we enter the Easter Triduum. Here are some key things we too kfrom our Lent Retreat.
God is love—and He loves you first.
Lent isn’t about earning that love, but responding to it. When we truly encounter God’s love, it changes how we live: we begin to love others not just in words, but in action. Real charity isn’t about doing something big—it’s choosing the good of the person in front of you, offering dignity, presence, and care in the everyday moments.
You don’t have to fix everything. Just start with one.

Ubi Caritas Et Amor, Deus Ibi Est. “Wherever there is charity and love, God is there.” St. John even goes so far as to tell us that God IS LOVE. Fr. Randy, the pastor at St. Andrè Bessette Church in downtown Portland, whose main ministry is feeding and caring for the poor, explores the idea of Christian love and charity in our world today, and how we can better understand and experience God through our relationships with others, whether that be through romantic love, family love, or love of neighbor. His morning talk will focus on the theology of love and charity, and the afternoon talk will more deeply explore his experiences at St. Andrè Bessette.
Register by March 1st with the link in the comments. This is a popular retreat. Sign up before we reach capacity!
