Are you ready for the natural disasters that happen in your area? We're in the middle of producing a series for PBS about them, how to prepare, and how climate change is affecting things. It's sciency, riveting, and focused on positive things we can DO today for harm reduction and preparation.

There is beauty in a burned landscape. Moss is growing and tiny trees push rocks out of their way as the spring rain brings them up from the soil. New habitat is born in the Columbia River Gorge where fires burned hot last fall.

With a fire season like the one we had this year in the NW, there are so many questions unanswered. Politicians using disaster to push their agenda, locals displaced and livelihoods impacted are just some of the results. This video features some of the best available science and responses to forest fires in the region. Please check it out and share!

New map of Columbia gorge fire shows how areas fared About 7,300 acres were highly burned, and about 14,600 acres were moderately burned.
