One year ago Escapist Reality went into lockdown. Our team was asked to work from home, our clients were informed that we will be working 100% remotely until the pandemic is under control.

I miss seeing my team and clients in person. I never would have imagined this lockdown would have an anniversary, or that in the future I'd need to refer to "the first year of the lockdown".

But we're almost through this. Soon we can all be vaccinated. We are so close.

I am extremely lucky, privileged, and honored to have been, and to continue to be, part of an incredible, supportive, understanding, and simply awesome team.

I cannot imagine what this last year would have been like without them.

Escapist Reality supports the Black Lives Matter movement. As a Portland-based Business we will be attending tonight's "Health & Human Services and Public Safety Committee" meeting to stand with BLM Portland and their demands.

For those of you who are like us at Escapist Reality and have powerful PCs and laptops for work, gaming or both, there is a way in which all of us can leverage those machines to aid in the fight against Coronavirus.

Folding@home (FAH or F@h), a distributed computing project for disease research, has Coronavirus specific projects available (with more to come).

You set the software to run while you are idle, or even while you are working, and you can control how much resources to commit. The software then leverages your excess machine resources to aid in extremely complex calculations. This is another powerful way in which we can help fight the global impact of the virus.
