It's and today we're highlighting Vitality Pearls! 💗

The design of Vitality Pearls reveals a most general tonic for the Spleen, Lung and Kidney systems. The classical formula Fuzi Lizhong Wan (Rectify the Middle Pill with Aconite) is perhaps the most typical remedy to restore the yang forces in chronically debilitated patients. As a built-in safety mechanism, Vitality Pearls buffers the exclusive warming properties of Lizhong Wan by including a minimal amount of the bitter/cold herb coptis, while balancing its drying properties with ingredients that moisten the yin of Lung and Stomach. Epimedium and psoralea are added to further strengthen the yang tonic effect, and further serve as guiding herbs to the bone layer.

Vitality Pearls, therefore, is not only a most suitable way to achieve the final “recharging” goal in the treatment of chronic debilitating diseases, but represents a constitutional remedy for the common patient type presenting with chronically weak digestion, food allergies, and thyroid and bone issues. In addition, Vitality Pearls represents the most straightforward way to prescribe the restorative herb aconite within the Classical Pearl series, and may even be used from the very beginning in the treatment of yang deficient “Gu syndrome” patients.

Traditionally valued for its aromatic and cooling nature, Qinghao has been used in Chinese Medicine for centuries and is carefully harvested at the proper time to preserve its delicate properties.🌿

Behind every formula is a long chain of farmers, landscapes, traditions, and skilled hands working together to preserve the depth of this medicine.

There’s something powerful about seeing medicine at its source.

Here, Heiner walks through fields of Qinghao (Artemisia annua), an herb used in many [Classical Pearls](https://www.classicalpearls.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com) formulas and valued for centuries in Chinese Medicine for its ability to clear heat and support the body during times of internal imbalance.

Moments like these are a reminder that the quality of herbal medicine begins long before it reaches the bottle. It starts with the land, the growing conditions, the harvest timing, and the people who continue these traditions with care and knowledge. 🌿

It's and this week were highlighting Release Pearls 🍃

Release Pearls is based on the design of Chai Ge Jieji Tang (Bupleurum and Kudzu Decoction to Release the Muscle Layer), which first appeared in the 15th century medical source book Six Texts on Disorders Caused by Cold (Shanghan liushu). The unorthodox design of the original formula features a clinically highly effective combination of wind dispersing herbs that simultaneously enter all three yang channels—shaoyang, yangming and taiyang.

For the last five centuries, the remedy has been used to treat aggressive epidemic infections, especially when symptoms of headaches and/or neck stiffness are present. Since climate change has precipitated an expansion of bizarre tropical diseases into the Northern hemisphere, viral or spirochetal infections of the brain have become more common in the US and Europe. Release Pearls intends to provide options for these types of acute disorders when Western epidemiology has little to offer. By combining the original remedy with herbs used in the treatment of Gu syndrome, moreover, Release Pearls can also be used in the treatment of individuals who frequently develop severe headaches.

It's and this week were highlighting Earth Pearls 🌍

The unique design of Earth Pearls reflects the 12th century formula Wuji San (Five Accumulations Powder), offering a comprehensive approach to earth organ dysfunction—especially Spleen qi deficiency with dampness, and potential Blood deficiency.

Rooted in an earth-centered approach to healing, it supports the Spleen’s ability to ascend, move, and transform, while helping the Stomach descend, contain, and excrete. With lifting and drying properties, it strengthens the Spleen-Lung connection, transforms dampness, prevents phlegm, and expels wind.

Once regarded as a primary Song dynasty remedy for the flu, it may also support chronic wind patterns with long-standing digestive issues, while its blood-tonic aspects help address patterns that follow prolonged qi imbalance.

🪵Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) is one of Chinese medicine’s most powerful warming herbs. Harvested from mature cinnamon trees, its bark strengthens the Fire at the Gate of Vitality (Mingmen), warms the interior, and guides heat back to the source. In classical formulas, Rougui is often used to rescue depleted yang, move cold stagnation, and support deep, chronic conditions where warmth is needed most.

"I have studied with Heiner in an online continuing education capacity, have been thoroughly taken by his discussions of Gu Syndrome since finding them in 2011 or so, and his previous podcast discussions with Laurie Regan. I have the highest regard for his vast awareness and knowledge of Chinese culture, history, and ancient & modern trends in Chinese medicine. It is with joy and confidence that I recommend Classical Pearls formulations for my patients. Last year I began migrating patients to Classical Pearls (which I order through Golden Needle supply). I also greatly enjoy the content on Classical Pearl’s social profiles. "

“Natural” doesn’t always mean gentle 🌿

In Chinese medicine, herbs are powerful tools—not just supplements. The right formula depends on careful pattern differentiation, proper dosage, and clinical experience.

What makes something safe isn’t just that it’s natural—it’s how and when it’s used.

Its and this week were highlighting Lightning Pearls ⚡

The design of Lightning Pearls reflects a unique approach to the difficult and recalcitrant problem of chronic inflammatory disease. It is based on the Qing dynasty remedy Jiajian Su He Tang (Perilla and Mint Decoction Modified), and represents a time-honored solution for the important clinical phenomenon of “Brain Gu Syndrome”: treatment resistant diseases caused by infections of the nervous system. Lightning Pearls aims to not only counteract pathogens, but also to treat terrain issues associated with various deficiencies in the patient’s qi, yin, and Blood. Lightning Pearls can be considered to be a more constitutional and long-term version of the Fever School’s flagship remedy Yin Qiao San (Honeysuckle and Forsythia Powder), and is thus also suitable to treat external invasions, or for preventing them during air travel.
