💫Life update!💫

Whelp, I’m at it again—singing and having an absolute BALL! 🤗

First pic is me in the studio with and yesterday morning laying down some background vocals for Jana’s new song, “Better with You.” ((18 weeks🤰🏻; 📸 ))

Now that I’m sailing in trimester 2, my energy and ability to do anything without being nauseated has greatly increased. My offerings these next months will be limited, but I do have a few exciting events up my sleeve and new music bubbling and brewing. Stay tuned here, AND…

Under the Fig Tree

I walk beneath the fig tree
where the fruit has fallen to the ground,
rotting, sweet and pungent.
I am transported to my grandparents’ farm—
California cold.
Dusty and a biting chill
that gets me to the bone.
I am a child, after all,
and resist the comforts of a warm jacket,
hat, and gloves.
Persimmons and pomegranates,
oranges and the hope of what remains,
hanging on stubbornly to the apricot trees.
We wash our hands at the big plastic utility sink in the garage.
No dirt inside the house!
Lunch awaits, spread like a Tupperware feast
on the dining table.
The dogs sprawled on the concrete,
pushed up against the sliding glass door,
absorbing the warmth from inside
where we are.
This is home.
The home I visit once a year.
The home I visit in my dreams.
I remember every corner,
every knick knack,
every picture hung on the wall with pride.
This is my childhood,
my formative years,
my life
where it began—
deep December, dust,
and my grandmother’s unconditional,
cloaking embrace.
I feel her now at my back,
in my heart.
She reminds me,
and I live her love through the soft caresses of
my child’s face
and her sweet simple song,
a reminder
that I love her.

I’ve been pretty quiet on here and other platforms and will share more about some big life shifts soon, but I had to take a moment to say how excited I am for this session with this Friday. I’ve been feeling called to be in threshold spaces—both birth and death—and this felt like divine timing. I’ll be guiding us all through a meditation to call our energy home with spoken word and vibrational sound healing and song. Can’t wait.❤️

What is Reiki?

Reiki is the Japanese term for a centuries old healing modality that works with energy.

‘Rei’ meaning universal and ‘ki’ meaning life force energy.

This is the energy that flows through all beings—plants, animals, rivers, you, me.

Just like acupuncture, massage, and other holistic healing arts, Reiki works on both a physical and an energetic level to create an environment that allows stuck or stagnant energy to flow freely, thus allowing the body to heal itself more fully.

Notes on my magical reiki carpet ride recently with audrey

As a teacher finishing up on her last few days of school at the end of the year, a reiki session with audrey was just what I needed.

My nervous system, which was on high alert, geared down and reset in our 90 minutes together.

Her warm heart and hands were felt in many ways for me. I felt at one point cocooned in a tunnel of light and sound. I could feel and sense density in my body that was able to release. The sound bath at the end, along with the humming of her beautiful voice, transported me to another realm. I highly recommend a session with her to reset, retune and realign. She is amazing!
