Why language matters to me as a q***r photographer and 2026 bride

I recently received paperwork from a wedding vendor I’d hired and it was covered in bride and groom language

It’s important to me that none of the couples I work with have that heart sinking feeling that I had when I read over this paperwork. Part of me wanted to say it’s not that big of a deal…but every time I opened the paperwork to fill it out, I felt nauseous

Through all my communication, I want to affirm people’s identities

I don’t want to make assumptions or put anyone in a box with language they don’t resonate with

Every relationship looks different, from gender identity to how they want to celebrate their wedding. My process is meant to reflect that

I’m always looking to learn and grow when it comes to creating a comfortable environment for all

Kait and Sam chose to have a quiet morning on the cliffs for their sunrise elopement in Acadia National Park. They spent time exploring together and sitting and taking in the views. It was peaceful and stress-free, just like they wanted!
