So honored to be a part of PSU's Simon Benson Awards this year. You really get to know someone after making 300 plus photos of them with donors, and Esperanza Spalding was incredible. She was engaged and delightful to work with, and everyone at the event was touched by her warmth and charm. What an amazing person!

I wanted to thank my friend Bryce, who's battling 4th stage cancer, for a great photography session today. He's raising funds for research through music, and trying to connect doctors and patients in meaningful ways. These images are for his "Punkrock Cancer" idea. I'm glad I could be a part of it!

Had a blast meeting Patton Oswald and supporting New Avenues for Youth!

I wanted to thank The Grimmer family, Jessica, Aaron, Max and Josephine, for a fun session the other day! Not only are they talented, but they have a great restaurant called Picnic House.

The PSU Simon Benson Awards Dinner was last night, and it was as amazing as ever! Arianna Huffington, the keynote speaker, was eloquent and funny, and her topics ranged from getting more sleep, to how the truth isn't in the middle of the road, and to how she's where she is today because she didn't marry the first guy she fell in love with.

I laughed the hardest when she said that at the Post, she and the crew decided to put coverage of Donald Trump where it should be, in the entertainment section!

Thanks again to everyone at Portland State for putting on an amazing event. And now, photos....

Comedy Showcase with Dana Carvey, VIP photos

Got to meet Dana Carvey tonight. He was supporting New Avenues for Youth, where they raised a record amount of money to help homeless and at-risk youth get work experience and turn their lives around.

A big shout-out to Ellie and Isabel, who were some amazing super models! They've been friends for many years and I was honored that they chose to have me photograph them for their Senior photos.

I had the pleasure of meeting Eric Schmidt, who is the owner and operator of Don Schmidt Nursery in Boring, Oregon. He was the 2 millionth Kubota tractor sale in the US, and I was picked by Kubota to come out and photograph him, along with the company execs. They raise Japanese Maples exclusively, and have over 200 varieties. Plus, they're just about the nicest folks you can hope to meet!

I just realized that I haven't posted anything in ages, so I wanted to give a shout out to my buddy Bowen, who's got some serious skilz when it comes to dirt bikes.

Keene Studio had the honor of working with the amazing staff and volunteers at PSU last night for the Simon Benson Awards. For those of you who don't know, it's an amazing event that showcases different honorees who have helped fund Portland State. Leon Panetta was the featured guest and he captured the audience of over 1400 with his wit, humor, and candor. I wanted to post some of the images from the event for folks who couldn't make it.
