All My Favorite Things

Why do I keep what I keep when I purge?
1) memories- a child’s well loved well worn teddy bears.
2) I remember where and when I bought or received something and they make me smile
3) I found the item while walking the beach or on walks.
4) gifts from friends and family that are special to me.

Other things I think about
When did I collect cement frogs? They might be headed to soon, but they are dang cute.
How have I accumulated soooo much!
I must purge more. This next flea market on SUNDAY June 14th will be a very special one! Please put it on your calendar, you won’t be sorry- especially if you love vintage.

I have to admit, I don’t go downtown Portland much anymore. And look what I have missed supporting. Looks like the loveliest of shops.
My first job when I worked downtown was when I was 18. (I’m about to really date myself). I worked at Charles F Berg- a high end clothing and shoe store. I was lured away by other companies, finally landing at Nordstrom for a 9 year career there before having my son and then opening my own businesses. I absolutely adored working in downtown Portland. Life is different now. Cityscapes change. But I still don’t feel any anxiety about shopping downtown. There are of course places to avoid, as there are in any big city.
This looks like a fabulous shop. I’ve commented on her post to find out her store hours. I plan on visiting, hopefully this week. By looking at her Instagram, I’m so in love with her store window displays. That was always a highlight when I worked downtown- store windows were always extraordinary.
When I get the hours I’ll post them here.
Maybe we could meet up and head downtown.
And let’s give her a follow- so we know where she lands next.
