Our lovely resident, Arlene, turned 95 yesterday and we were honored to celebrate with her. Our staff and fellow residents made sure she felt the love, complete with tiara, sash, roses, and singing Happy Birthday before cutting into a delicious cake. Thank you for the kindness and light you bring to everyone around you, Arlene!

Our team had a blast celebrating Nursing Home Week! With an energy drink bar, donuts, grilled hot dogs and sides, muffins, a visit from the Kona Ice truck, and daily attire themes, fun was had by all! Thank you to all of our staff who make each day possible, and for all those who brought these celebrations to life!

Meet our National Nurses Week spotlight and our Director of Nursing, Deana Daugherty! Deana has been with Glisan Post Acute for 3 years. She grew up in healthcare and worked in her dad's podiatry office becoming a CNA in 2009 and a nurse in 2015. When asked what the most important trait in a nurse is, Deana answered: compassion, noting that it cannot be taught. Please join us in thanking Deana for her exemplary leadership and comprehensive approach to nursing!

Happy Nurses Week from Glisan Post Acute! With endless dedication, skill, and compassion, nurses show up in such incredible ways for those in need; the world is a better place with them in it. To our 21 amazing nurses on staff, and all nurses far and wide, we thank you for all you do!

It was a beautiful day for a scenic drive down the Columbia Gorge! A group of our residents enjoyed a picnic at the Cascade Locks Marine Park followed by ice cream at the East Wind Drive-In. Thank you to everyone who joined and made it such a fun day!

We hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! Our residents enjoyed cookie decorating, deviled eggs, coloring, and a “guess how many jelly beans are in the jar” game; congratulations to Ashanti for having the closest guess!

Please join us in wishing a VERY happy birthday to our beloved Activities Queen and all around lovely young lady, Teri! She has been a staple here at Glisan for many years and we are grateful to have her as part of our team. Thank you for all you do, Teri!

Happy St. Patricks’s Day from all of us at Glisan Post Acute! Our residents celebrated with popcorn, cupcakes, cookies, beverages, themed Bingo, and festive decorations!

Spring has sprung at Glisan Post Acute!

National Letter to an Elder Day is this Thursday, February 26th and we hope spreading the word now will maximize the positive impact we can all have by sending handwritten letters, cards, and notes of encouragement to elderly family, friends, and community members. A simple letter can significantly reduce feelings of isolation, reduce anxiety, and improve the emotional well-being of seniors. Share this post and join the effort!
