The week of graduation was filled with goodbyes, but it was also filled with hellos. On Thursday, June 4, Cheverus hosted the New Student Welcome Ceremony. Hosted by our Director of Admissions Kate O'Brion '01 and Assistant Director of Admissions Matt Cosgrove, incoming students and families heard a reflection from from rising senior Igor Bitencourt. In addition, outgoing Principal and incoming President Dr. John Moran spoke about St. Ignatius, the founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), and introduced them to what makes Jesuit education unique.

The patch the students will affix to their blazer was blessed by Director of Campus Ministries Rodger Cilley before each student lit a candle, symbolizing the light each individual will bring to our community. It was a beautiful start the next chapter for these students.

The Driscoll Award Cheverus honors the memory of Mrs. Pat Driscoll, our beloved cafeteria worker who passed away in 2018, by recognizing a Cheverus staff member in the same way that the Duffy Award recognizes classroom teachers. The inscription on the Driscoll Award reads, "In memory of Mrs. Pat Driscoll, this award is presented to Cheverus staff members in recognition of their support of Cheverus High School, its students and its Mission."

This year's Driscoll Award recipient is Mrs. Jeannette Wycoff. Congratulations, Mrs. Wycoff!
