This past weekend, CNS Sisterhood welcomed many fantastic players to their Mah Jongg Maddness Tournament and Brunch! If you missed out, reach out to learn more about the casual monthly Mah Jongg Program; beginners are welcome!

This Shavuot, PJA and the larger Portland Jewish community will come together for a shared night of celebration and learning - where questions are welcomed, perspectives are honored, and relationships are strengthened.

Happy Lag Ba'Omer! Our Israeli & American community had so much fun celebrating together yesterday at Shute Park.

On Erev Yom Ha’atzmaut, we take note that we are living in extraordinary times.

At a moment when threats against the Jewish people are real and ongoing, the reality that there exists a sovereign Jewish state, able to protect its citizens and shape its own destiny, is nothing short of miraculous. After 2,000 years.

Yom Ha’atzmaut is a celebration of that miracle—of survival, of strength, and of the enduring spirit of the Jewish people.

Tonight begins Yom HaZikaron—Israel’s Memorial Day.

A day set aside for remembrance, for gratitude, and for the quiet weight of loss.

We honor the soldiers of the IDF who gave their lives defending the State of Israel, and the victims of terror whose lives were taken simply because they were part of the Jewish story.

This year, the day feels especially heavy. With Israel still facing threats on multiple fronts, the names we remember are not distant history—they are painfully present.

Each life lost is not just a number, but a world: a family, a story, a future that will never unfold.

We remember them.
We are grateful to them.
We honor their sacrifice.

May their memories be a blessing.
