Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there, especially my mom, Leslie. She continues to take life by the horns in her mid-80s - cooking up a storm, attending protests, writing political letters, sending care packages to her 6 grandkids, visiting us and attending kid events, doing watercolor studies, hiking and sailing with my dad and being an all around energetic superstar. She is creative, she is tenacious, she is powerful, she is loving. Love you, Mom!

Living that rock star life. (It’s no joke feeding a blended family of 6!)
Here I am, winded at the top of Mount Tabor. People love to make fun of Portland, but look at this! I love to bike through all these gorgeous evergreen trees. Spring is here!
I made these little illustrations for the album artwork and songbook for my upcoming album. Having fun making paper frames for them with cut up joss paper. Lots of behind-the-scenes art and merch prep happening right now.

Want to scratch your songwriting itch? I’m excited to be teaching at this event in June in Portland. It’s called “Songs in the City” and it will be two immersive days of songwriting, creativity and community at at the Kennedy School. I’ll be teaching my Kaleidoscope Creativity Cards (songwriting prompts), Daily Creativity Habits and DIY Philosophies, and Guitar Tricks (Fingerstyle and Altnerate Tunings). Guitar chordal voicing tip! A simple tuning is changing the G string to an A. Best on a nylon string or electric guitar so the string doesn’t break! I have written so many songs in this tuning. Many colors are available with simple fingerings.
