Story time ✨ When I started BCBC I thought I would become the neighborhood bread lady. Very early on, I realized that all people are reaching out to me for are cakes. Cakes from the menu sometimes, but more often custom cakes. Now…cake decorating has never been my specialty. I hesitated to even put cakes on my menu at first because even though my cakes tasted delicious, I never felt the decor was up to s***f. Flash forward to almost a year in, and it’s all I sell 😂 I think people are comfortable getting bread from the grocery store, and there just isn’t a market for artisan bread in my area. There is however a lack of bakeries, and in particular, bakeries that will accept custom/off menu orders. This golden Oreo cake, and a marble cake (that I didn’t post cause I couldn’t slice it 😂) were so fun and I enjoyed being able to help my community out with a last minute cake they couldn’t get elsewhere. I don’t know what the future holds for BCBC, but for now I am enjoying just having a cake or so a week. I honestly couldn’t handle more with my 9-5 and two kids…it’s just a self-sustaining hobby at this point. This one was fun 🤩 Thanks if you read this lol probably should have just blogged it…oh well. 😆

Took a couple weeks off to go on vacation 🏝️ but still had some personal bakes, and have been making this soft white sandwich bread every week for the fam for the past month and these are loaves 7/8 - thinking about adding it to the menu and taking away some of the other breads! We sure have been moving through it 😅

Springy cake 🌸🌼 first time doing flowers, still learning but had a lot of fun and I think this is perfect for the ☀️ coming out this weekend!

Experimenting with scoring 🔪 the loaves that had adequate rising time have cleaner lines (obviously) and less flour appears to be more. Will keep practicing!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’d love to get better at sugar cookie decorating, but I still think these guys are cute!
