Such a lovely day rooted in culture, community, and connection! 🎉👏
On Sunday, the Forrit Credit Union team attended the 20th Annual Latino Community Festival at the Hillsboro Ballpark. 🤩🙌
The Latino Community Festival is a free, family-friendly event that began as an effort by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce to connect Latino business owners with local networks. It has since grown into a vibrant community celebration that highlights Latino-owned businesses, traditions, culture, and contributions while connecting community members with local resources. 🫶✨
The festival line-up was packed full of entertainment that celebrated culture and community. We had such a blast spending the evening enjoying delicious food from local business owners, watching exciting soccer matches and beautiful live performances, and meeting all of the other wonderful local resource vendors. 💃⚽
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Forrit Credit Union booth to learn more about who we are and all we have to offer. We had such a lovely time chatting with you all and coloring Forest the Ferret worksheets together! 🧑🎨💜

Popped on our chef hats and cooked up some competition. 🧑🍳✨
Last week, the Forrit team faced off in our very own Dip War! Team members brought beloved family recipes, game-day classics, and experimental masterpieces to the table. 🥣
🏆 Our CFO, Wendy, took home the Gordon Ramsay Award for her delicious "Keep Clam and Dip On" dip. This dip conquered the crowd and earned the ultimate honor of People's Choice! Wendy's recipe keeps things simple. It doesn't need more than 3 ingredients because greatness doesn't need a long resume.
🎨 Our Senior Accountant, Kat, received the Van Gogh Award for her "Strawberry Pineapple Cream Cheese" dip. Kat's presentation wowed the team due to its creativity, plating, and overall visual appeal. However, Kat's dip included a long list of side effects like making eye contact with the last bite, guarding the bowl from friends and family, and saying, "just one more bite".
📖 Our Director of Development, Sarah, truly has a way with words. The elegantly written description for her "Pickle Dip" won her the Jane Austen Award. Sarah described this dip as a "Dip That Divided Families" and reminded the judges that "History will remember where you stood" when tasting her dip.

School supplies are packed and ready for Rock the Block! 📚🎉
On Monday, the Forrit team joined our friends at City of Gresham - Government to pack 300 school supplies kits for elementary school students in our community. 🎒✏️
At Rock the Block, 700 students will receive a backpack and a school supplies kit tailored to their grade level, whether they're in elementary, middle, or high school. Each kit is filled with the essential supplies students need to start the school year ready for success! 👩🏫✨

We’re proud to support the Adelante Mujeres Market, which is a key project of the organization’s Market Access Program. The market is driven by their mission to nurture community and celebrate culture by strengthening direct access to fresh, culturally relevant foods. 🍓🥬
This inclusive community space serves as an incubator market for beginning Latine farmers, food businesses, and artisan makers. It helps support entrepreneurs from the Regenerative Agriculture and Empresas Small Business Development programs. 🤩✨

For more than 70 years, Blanchet House has served our neighbors with care, operating as a nonprofit social services organization with a mission to alleviate suffering and offer hope for a better life by providing essential aid with dignity. 🫶

This event helps generate funding to both Blanchet House’s vital services for the houseless community and the talented local artists who share their work.
