Congratulations, Havlin, on the retirement after 33 years at VLMK Engineering + Design.

We are so sad to see him go, but are incredibly thankful that he has been part of our team for so long (since 1993!). There were definitely a few tears shed, but we know he'll have a blast now that he has more time for competitive bocce.

It's always so rewarding to see a project like this coming together!

Jeremy Ulibarri, PE, is a Project Engineer II at VLMK Engineering + Design, recently promoted in recognition of his contributions to the firm. Over his five years with VLMK, he has gained experience across a diverse range of structural engineering projects, including multi-family residential developments, retail shell buildings, industrial warehouses, and tenant improvements for national retail clients.

Jeremy is known for his strong technical ability, reliability, and collaborative approach, consistently contributing to effective project delivery. He is a graduate of Oregon State University.

He continues to take on increased responsibility within project teams and plays a key role in delivering thoughtful, well-executed solutions.

Cooper Curry, EIT, recently came on board with VLMK Engineering + Design as a Structural Designer in the firm’s Phoenix office. He earned his degree from Washington State University and brings nearly three years of structural engineering experience.

Prior to joining VLMK, Cooper worked at Burns & McDonnell, where he focused on the design of structural foundations and support systems for power generation equipment, including projects for Arizona Public Service. His experience has provided a strong foundation in technical design and coordination.

Cooper is focused on expanding his experience across a broader range of project types and materials as he works toward earning his Professional Engineering license.

Justin Kittelson, P.E. has joined VLMK Engineering + Design as a Project Engineer II, bringing over a decade of experience in structural engineering. He has worked across wood-frame, reinforced concrete, and steel construction on a variety of project types, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

His experience spans detailed engineering design, project leadership, construction observation, and structural evaluations. Justin is known for his practical approach and strong emphasis on constructability in detailing.

He brings a well-rounded perspective to project teams and is committed to delivering efficient, buildable solutions for clients and collaborators.

Over the past few weeks we've had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing students at the University of Portland and Oregon State University career fairs. We're looking forward to watching their careers take off and hopefully working with them someday.

This past Friday our Portland office celebrated Valentine's Day with a postcard station. We wrote and decorated (some more than others) postcards for family and friends, so they could get a fun surprise in the mail.

We’re excited to welcome Alex Mason to VLMK as our new Marketing / People & Culture Coordinator. She has a degree in Media Production with a minor in Graphic Design from Bethel University. With a background in communications, event planning, and design, Alex will be heading up our publicity efforts, including things like swag, career fairs, job site signs, and web updates. In her capacity as our People and Culture Coordinator, she’ll be the facilitator of both the internal and external events and activities that make VLMK a great place to work. From employee birthday celebrations, trivia nights, and group lunches, to our annual holiday parties for staff and for clients.

We’re delighted to have Alex on the team!
