At the start of your visit, you'll get a passport to guide you through the day's activities. The more things you do, the more spaces you'll fill in your passport. At the end of your visit, your passport becomes your ticket to win raffle prizes!

The display highlights the growing impacts of marine debris on our ocean and shorelines, while also celebrating the resilience of these environments and the communities working to protect them.

Throughout the event, attendees will also have opportunities to explore the coastline with park rangers, participate in a marine debris survey with Oregon Shores scientists, and learn practical ways to reduce marine debris from local artists and experts.

🎫 The event is open to the public, and all attendees will be entered in a free raffle to win an annual National Parks Pass. Locally-sourced appetizers and refreshments will be provided.

👉 Can't attend the grand unveiling on Saturday? That's okay! This art installation is here to stay, so you can come visit it any day.

Created from debris collected along our coastline, this future artwork will tell a deeper story about our connection to the ocean and the growing impact of marine pollution on coastal ecosystems. It honors the cultural and ecological importance of salmon in the Pacific Northwest and invites us to reflect on how everyday actions affect the health of our beaches, waterways, and marine life.

✨️On June 6th at 2pm, please join us for the formal program with a welcome and remarks from project partners and the official unveiling of the Marine Debris Display.

✨️Then from 2:30 to 4:30 pm, guests are invited to stay for a relaxed social hour to connect with community members, partner organizations, and fellow coastal stewards.

Calling all beach walkers and agate lovers!

Come join Oregon Shores and Newport, Oregon - The Friendliest with the Newport 60+ Activity Center on a guided walk along one of Oregon’s beach miles as we introduce the CoastWatch program, learn about other community science opportunities, and complete a mile report together.

This casual, hands-on outing is open to everyone from current Adopt-a-Mile volunteers to anyone curious about getting involved. It’s a great way to learn about the power of observation, connect with others who care about the coast, and experience the beauty of the Oregon Coast.

A big win for the Tututni Estuary We helped protect a Curry County coastline by stopping an unlawful RV park proposal in the Tututni Estuary.

Pristine Prima’s Beach Cleanup at Mile 285

Join Primavera Salinas who adopted Oregon Shores Mile 285 in honor of her marine biology professor, who supported and inspired her to earn an Associates Degree despite mental health, housing instability, and other challenges.

On May 30, from 10 am – 2 pm, participants will walk with Prima, learn about her mile, and remove debris from this somewhat isolated stretch of the Oregon Coast. There will be a Spanish speaker present at this event.

All day Tuesday, May 26th, 10% of all dine-in and to-go sales will benefit Oregon Shores programming and our mission to educate and empower people to protect our coastal ecosystems and communities.

Oregon Shores will be tabling on-site to share about their recent work to monitor the Oregon’s coast. Come stop by our table, purchase a raffle ticket or two, get a meal or pint, and enjoy a great evening on the coast.
