Saecula Saeculorum Design

When designing this veil, the inspiration came from medieval French stained glass windows and illustrated manuscripts. I love the accents of cobalt blue and emerald green next to all the gold, and how much detail there is behind the dove. The halo of the dove includes the triangle which is a symbol of God the Father, the gold cross is for God the Son, and obviously the dove is for the Holy Spirit. The fleur de lis is the specific French element, which were featured on Joan of Arc's battle standard!

The embroidery is now finished on this one! I do have to say, it was probably a nudge of divine providence that I had to redo this veil, because I like this version much better! Now to pick out some gold trim 💛

Redoing the embroidery for this veil, and this time I used a much thinner thread for the black outline, and I like it so much better! The first time I used 2 threads of embroidery floss, and this time I used cotton sewing thread doubled!

So I had completely finished this embroidery when I realized that the design was upside down on the veil 😭 so I cut the tulle into a circle and stitched it on to a new piece!

Long time no post! A most blessed and happy Easter to you all!

Here is some progress on my current work, this being the first time using a magnet needle minder from ! Not only do I love invoking the patronage of Our Lady Undoer of Knots, but it's so much more gentle on the tulle and I don't have to worry about catching the needle and causing a tear!

Just need to add lace, and this veil will be finished!

I have this idea where if someone wanted to send me their wedding veil that I could resize the veil and add embroidery to turn the veil either into a First Holy Communion veil for a daughter or for a Sunday mass veil. Do you think that's something I should offer?

Not a new design, but it is my first time embroidering this pattern at twice the size and the first try at a wedding veil!

As I navigate starting new veils with 4 children 4 and under, I am reposting that this veil is still currently available!

We have also begun our homeschool year, which is just preschool for the oldest 2, but it still requires some time and mental energy each day. We're trying a Charlotte Mason style curriculum with loads of books, which my children love, so hopefully it works well for our family 🤞

This embroidery is finished, and here are also the results of trying applique! I want to try something different to attach the applique fabric, but I was definitely able to stitch more precise details than usual.

What do you think? Do you like this applique or prefer when it's entirely stitched?

Also tried something different with the roses where I stitched pink in a short and long stitch over a white satin stitch. It was much faster and easier than when I first stitched this design and used 3 colors!
