We wanted to take a moment to reflect. So much has happened over the past few months, and it’s incredible to look back on everything we’ve experienced together. 💙

We moved out of our longtime home, moved into a brand new building, reopened our Free Food Market, and welcomed neighbors back into the Center 55+. It has been quite the journey filled with change, growth, excitement, and countless meaningful moments along the way.

We’ve said goodbye to old neighbors, welcomed many new ones, hosted another successful SW Hope campaign, and continued building strong relationships with partners and community members across Portland. Through every transition, challenge, and celebration, one thing has remained constant: the support of this amazing community.

Thank you to everyone who has walked alongside us every step of the way. We truly would not be where we are today without you. Here’s to all the amazing work, connections, and memories still to come. 🙌

Our sincerest thank you to Ginger & Maude Hair Salon for not only everything they do for Neighborhood House, but for the incredible care they show to communities all across the Portland area. 🧡

Ginger & Maude has been a longtime friend and supporter of NHPDX, and it’s inspiring to see how mission-driven their work truly is. From volunteering their time to provide free haircuts at organizations like Rose Haven and New Avenues for Youth, to financially supporting nonprofits such as Latino Network, Immigration Counseling Service (ICS), Self Enhancement, Inc., and so many others, they consistently show up for people in meaningful ways.

It’s amazing to see a local business so committed to giving back and supporting organizations making a difference throughout our region. We’re incredibly grateful for their continued support, generosity, and partnership.

If you’re looking for a haircut, make sure to give them a visit! ✂️

Our Free Food Market is up and running again, but our shelves are emptier than usual. Why? 🥫

Recent and ongoing cuts to USDA programs have directly impacted the food supply for food markets and banks such as Oregon Food Bank. This comes at a time when the need in our community continues to grow. Last month alone, we welcomed more than 3,000 shoppers, nearly 1,000 more people than we would typically see.

We are working hard every day to ensure neighbors still have access to the food they need, but we can’t do it alone. Please consider supporting our Food Security Program by donating through the link in our bio. You can also support us by organizing a food drive in your workplace, school, faith community, or neighborhood. Every action, big or small, helps keep our shelves stocked and our neighbors fed. 💚
