PYB’s Dine-Out fundraiser is underway!

We have a wonderful group of restaurant partners across Portland who have generously committed to donate a percentage of sales to PYB, helping us provide critical assistance to local youth. Funds raised through these events make it possible for us to offer life-changing educational and job-training programs. Thank you so much to Tacovore, who participated earlier this month - we are deeply appreciative of their continuous support!

June 3rd -¿Por Que No? - wide variety of Mexican food options and incredible margaritas. Located at 4635 SE Hawthorne Blvd. and 3524 N Mississippi Ave. Both locations are participating!

June 10th - Steely’s - new bar serving smashburgers and bologna sandwiches. Located at 4343 SE Hawthorne Blvd.

June 13 - Dove Vivi - perfect cornmeal crust pizzas. Located at 2727 NE Glisan St.

Happy Friday! Our brand new students are busy at work learning power tool and woodcutting basics. So cool to see them get the hang of it!

PYB is closed on Monday, May 25th in honor of Memorial Day to commemorate those who have served. There will be no programming on this day. PYB students - if you are in need of assistance on Monday, please contact Rana by email or phone. We will be open again on Tuesday, May 26th.

Last Friday, our students attended the Oregon Tradeswomen Career Fair, an interactive, trades-focused career event. Our students were able to learn about different careers and apprenticeships by connecting with professionals and participating in hands-on activities. This event is an incredible learning opportunity for our students and demonstrates that a career in the trades is accessible. Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible!

Thank you to all of our amazing Gender Diversity in the Trades and Tech panelists for coming out to our campus last week and providing insight and advice to our students. We had panelists working as engineers, auditors, carpenters, and more. It’s incredibly valuable and encouraging for our students to have such great role models in their desired work fields. Thank you again everyone!

Yesterday, we held our Bridge to Construction graduation! Family, friends, staff, and PYB community members gathered at our southeast campus to celebrate our graduates and everything they’ve accomplished during their time at PYB. To our new alumni - we are so proud of you and can’t wait to support you in your next steps. Congratulations!

Eat at the following restaurants on these days, and a portion of the money spent will go directly to our programs.
