38 Intermountain West farmers work together to produce over 400 varieties of open-pollinated, non-patented seeds that are available through their webstore and in over 80 retail locations around the Intermountain West region.
Join Snake River Seed Cooperative growers and co-owners Casey O’Leary (General Manager & grower, Earthly Delights Farm) Kelly Kingsland (Board member & grower, Affinity Farm), and Jessica McAleese (grower, Swift River Farm) to learn more about the way the cooperative functions and why it matters to collaborate to steward regionally-adapting seeds for a changing climate and a hopeful, more abundant future. We will talk about their transition from an LLC to a cooperative and how their seed cooperative operates. We’ll have plenty of time for Q+A, so come with your questions and curiosities!

Nopales in the house! 🌵🌵Earlier this season the Willamette Valley Chapter Apprentices were able to visit Plaza de Nuestra De Nuestra Comunidad’s Garden and receive a tour and Cactus propagation demo from Elva, who is the Organic Garden & Community Engagement Coordinator. We also got to go home with a cactus!

Plaza serves hundreds of families each year, giving them access to grow their own food in Eugene. They started the first ever community beekeeping class in Spanish in the area! Thanks so much to the Plaza de Nuestra Comunidad for having us!

Our Rogue Valley Fellows and OFC Apprentice Participants earlier this seasons at the Regenerative Farming Fellowship / Family Nurturing Center Farm learning about US and Oregon History and Food Systems!

This year’s Apprentices and PDX chapter Beginner Farmer Educational Event Series participants at Kindness Farm! We toured the farm and learned more about their progation practices 🌱 So excited to learn from more farms this season!

We are so excited to have Edible Stories Market Garden join us as a new Apprenticeship Host Farm in the 2026 Season. Host farmers Lakshmi and Ganesh have been hand tending their sub acre market garden for the past 13 years as a way of celebrating their Asian heritage while contributing to the cultural diversity of locally grown produce in the Portland metro area. For Lakshmi and Ganesh food is more than nourishment, it carries memories, emotions and a deep sense of belonging. They cultivate a diverse range of vegetables, with a special emphasis on crops that hold cultural significance to the Asian community.

After more than a decade of honing their knowledge and skills, Lakshmi and Ganesh felt inspired to share what they have learned by mentoring new and aspiring farmers. OFC apprentices Jasmine and Isabella joined the Edible Stories farm crew in February and OFC is so grateful to work in partnership with Lakshmi and Ganesh to train the next generation of regenerative farmers!

Last month Fellows and Apprentices gathered for our first of two weekend gatherings this season! We spent our time at the Headwaters Farm Incubator Program near Gresham. Participants were able to learn about soil health with Jen Aron and the wonderful programming available at Headwaters with Rowan Steele. Participants also saw some unique farm equipment demonstrations thanks to Rowan.

It was wonderful to have everyone gathered together for this two day event in a celebration of learning how to take care of this land we get to call home. We can’t wait for our second one this upcoming weekend in the Rogue Valley!!
