Delicious mobster outing to Fresh Grill today!! Solid selection of gourmet burgers on their menu and the selection of fries and sauces weren't to shabby. In the end the crew gave it a ranking of 4 out of 5 stars. Give it a go if you're in the area.

Fuddruckers Chipotle BBQ Burger. Simply delicious! The mob rolled deep into Fuddruckers out in Tigard Oregon today and had a variety of burgers. Every mobster gave their burger rave reviews based off the home made bun, hand pressed pattys, the condiment buffet and the fries on the side. The toughest part of the experience was the slow service but the staff was very accommodating and friendly overall. Rankings of the Burgers were all in the 4 to 4.75 out of 5 range. Highly recommended!!

Mt. Hood burger. 2 hand pressed all beef patties, thick cut bacon, cheddar cheese and a house made wheat bun. This thing was HUGE but to be honest it was to huge in the wrong places. The bun was tasty but was way to big for the burger. The bacon was thick but there were only two slices. The beef patties were really good and if the other aspects of the burger had been better this bad boy would have been really good. 2.5 out of 5 stars. Give it a go if you are hungry next time you are coming off the slopes and you drive through Government Camp.

Homemade edition of Burger Mob! We whipped up a cheesy concotion over the holiday weekend. A delicious beef patty with diced garlic and little bits of provolone rolled in, a healthy stuffing of provolone on the inside and a slice of provolone on top. Top it of with a whole wheat bun, lettuce, tomato and pickles and we had quite the tasty treat on our hands! We might be biased, considering we prepared the burger with our own hands, but this burger gets a 4.9 out of 5 stars...next time provolone would be pushed aside for a more flavorful cheese option.

Let us know if any of you did any burger mobbin' on the BBQ for memorial day weekend. Post some pics if you've got 'em!!

Violetta 11/08/2011

Overall Violetta got a score of 3 out of 5 burgers.

The burger mob hit up the food cart today to see how this Portland food cart stacked up against other local burgers. Violetta has a nice assortment of burgers to try and we went with the original Violetta Burger (w/ cheese and bacon), the 50/50 burger and the Oregon Blue Burger. We've didn't get a chance to snap up any pics of the Blue Burger (must have been to delicious for our mobster to waste time on photos) but we do have pictures of the other two.

The Violetta Burger came with butter lettuce, red onion, "10 hour tomatoes", super dills and burger sauce. It took home a 2.5 out of 5 burger rating from the mobster who devoured it.

The 50/50 Italian Burger had a patty that was half house-made Italian sausage and half natural beef. Toppings included spicy marinara, mozzarella and a basil aioli. The "burger" was more on the meatball sub side of things then anything so it is hard to give it a true burger score. We left satisfied though and will put it in the middle of the road with another 3.5 out of 5 burger rating.

The Oregon Blue Burger consisted of Oregonzola, caramelized onions, bacon and burger sauce. The toppings made for quite the tasty burger and the mob gave this a score of 3 out of 5 burger rating.

To be honest our favorite part of the meal was the fries that we ate from Violetta. Both the sweet potato fries and the white truffle fries were dy-no-mite!! A must if you decide to hit this place up!

Overall we'd recommend grabbing yourself any of the burgers off the Violetta menu but definitely don't think it is a "go out of your way" kind of burger...

Fuller's Restaurant 09/02/2011

We give Fuller's Restaurant a 4.5 out of 5. They are in the Pearl in Portland at: 136 NW Ninth Ave, Portland, OR 97209

You might think Burger Mob went through a burger eating dry spell, but actually we have just been in a burger coma which to our way of thinking isn’t a bad state of being. Anyway, we have actually been visiting places just too lazy to write about them. Our latest outing was to Fuller’s in the Pearl District. On the outside it is just a normal looking, old school diner, but on the inside you can get breakfast any time and better yet one of the best burgers we have eaten. Pretty straightforward choices with nothing out of the ordinary, but the big winner for us was the cheeseburger with bacon and egg. The lack of conversation and inhaling of the meal pretty much spoke for itself. The well-seasoned griddle gave us a burger that was juicy, perfectly melted cheese, crispy bacon and an egg that didn’t make your burger a mess. The produce was crisp and fresh as was the bun. Our only advice was if you like a thicker burger, order double patties as they are fairly thin. With the choice of crinkle fries or house made we tried both and the crinkle fries made us happier. The strawberry shake was considered one of the best ever with a strong, fresh strawberry flavor. We give this place a solid 4.50 burgers. Don’t visit some super-trendy oh so chic pearl eatery, instead go traditional and pull up a stool at this understated quiet gem.

Dickie Jo's Burgers 08/15/2011

A weekend trip to Eugene led us to try Dickie Jo’s burgers. Another of Eugene’s West Brother’s adventures in food. This newest burger joint is built to look like a diner of the 50’s. The décor, sundae bar and open grill all add to the ambience, but truthfully we were there for the burger. You start with a basic which comes with all the standard fixings (nothing fancy here) and fries. There was an additional cost for cheese and other options, but this time we went fairly traditional. Ordering the garlic fries was the only adventurous part of our meal.

The burger looked hand-pressed and was cooked perfectly. It was juicy with a wonderful fresh, soft bun. The fries were thin and crispy. Some felt they could have been hotter and thought twice about incurring the extra cost for the garlic. They do come with a special sauce that has a nice little kick. If you are in Eugene (maybe for a Duck game?) it is a good post game stop.

We give it a 4 out of 5. The West Brothers hit the right note by providing us a good burger to satisfy our current obsession.
