Body Riot
Strength. Yoga. Recovery. Community. Sellwood, PDX A welcoming and inclusive heated power yoga studio located in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland, Oregon.
We encourage both beginners and advanced students looking for a yoga home. At yogaRIOT, we TEACH yoga and get to know our students by providing personalized instruction. We focus mostly on vinyasa yoga which links breath and movement. Folks of all ages, genders, races, physical ability, economic status, and sexual orientation are welcomed. If you're looking for a fitness routine that's challenging, dynamic, and will leave you feeling invigorated, heated power yoga might be just what you need. By combining the physical demands of yoga with the benefits of a heated room, this practice can help you build strength, increase flexibility, and improve your overall fitness level. But if you really want to take your practice to the next level, consider adding personal training or fitness coaching to the mix. With personalized guidance and support, you can tailor your workouts to your specific needs and goals, whether you're looking to build muscle, lose weight, or increase your endurance. Together, heated power yoga and personal training can create a comprehensive fitness program that's both effective and enjoyable. Turns out everyone at RIOT has a type.
The one who wants it hot. The one who wants to lift heavy things. The Pilates person who swears the tiny movements are “fine.” The one who has exactly 30 minutes. The one who came exclusively to lie on a foam roller.
Different days call for different things.
Get strong. Get sweaty. Slow down. Move better. Pick up something heavy. Lay on the floor for a while.
We’ve got a class for that.
Which RIOT regular are you?

We've been working on something new at RIOT.
TRANSFORM WITH CHELSEA: The Body Composition Method.
And Round One starts October 15.
Fall is RECOMP: eight weeks focused on building muscle while reducing body fat, with four days of strength training each week + individualized coaching from Chelsea around your nutrition, macros, protein, fueling, recovery, progress and body composition goals.
This is not our version of an 8-week weight loss challenge.
Quite literally the opposite.
We’re not slashing calories, adding endless cardio and promising you a new body by December.
We’re playing a longer game.
FALL: RECOMP
Build muscle + reduce body fat.
WINTER: BUILD
Focus on muscle growth + strength.
SPRING: CUT
Reduce body fat while working to preserve what you built.
You can start with Fall or commit to the full Transform cycle.
Round One is limited to 16 people.
Your Transform Coaching Package is $299 through October 1 and officially reserves your spot. Transform also requires Full Studio Unlimited for your four weekly training sessions, but you don’t need to touch your membership before registering. Claim your spot first and our team will personally handle the rest with you.
October 15. Let’s get to work.

The vision was always pretty clear.
How do you know if you picked the right weight?
Too light, and you're just moving — not building anything. Too heavy, and your form breaks down before the set's even over. The right weight is the one where your last two reps are genuinely hard, but still look like your first two.
If you're not sure which one that is — that's literally what your coach is there for. Ask every time. Ask mid-set. Ask on rep three if something feels off. That's not a beginner question, that's the whole point of BUILD.

Handstands aren't about being strong enough. They're about trusting the floor — and that's exactly what our new weekly Handstands class is built to teach.
Meet Jake, the instructor leading it. He teaches with real anatomy and nervous system awareness built into every class — which makes him exactly the right person to make handstands feel accessible instead of intimidating.
All experience levels are welcome. Every session breaks down the actual mechanics — hand placement, where to look, how to engage before you ever kick up — so it's less "can I do this" and more "here's how."
Fridays, 10:30AM.

A lot is new at bodyRIOT this September.
Alex found yoga after years as a live sound engineer, trained in Bali with his wife Erin — who's also teaching this fall. Jake's a former elite athlete turned Biomedical Engineer, now leading our brand-new Handstands class. Jennifer opens every class with a moment of stillness. And Cora, who you already know, is bringing something new: unheated Ashtanga 75 — the same structured sequence every time, built for real strength over weeks, not just a single sweaty hour...and Megan, a certified Inferno Hot Pilates instructor and NASM-certified personal trainer who believes getting stronger should never mean restriction — just ask her about her other passion, food.
Plus, meet JJ: 10+ years as a licensed massage therapist, now offering deep tissue and something new for us — manual lymphatic drainage. Thursdays and Saturdays.
A lot is on the schedule for the month. Come see for yourself.

We're hiring instructors.
Fitness. Yoga. Mat Pilates. Hot Pilates. If you can teach it well and you want to teach it somewhere that actually feels like something — we want to talk.

Flow vs. Power Flow — what's actually different? Both are flow-based. Here's where they split.
Same foundation: continuous, breath-linked movement, one pose leading into the next. If you've done one, the rhythm will feel familiar in the other.
Flow keeps a steady, accessible pace — shorter holds, always moving, a strong entry point whether you're new to the room or just want something that flows without grinding. Power Flow is the same continuous movement with more demand — longer holds, more depth, real strength work built into the sequence.
There's no wrong answer. Take Flow when you want movement without grinding. Take Power Flow when you want the burn built in. Most people end up doing both, depending on the day.
