I had a consultation awhile back where the couple asked me why I prefer the idea of a First Look. While it's your wedding day, the reason I prefer it (aside from streamlining the timeline) is simply because it creates a moment for you and your partner to just exist with each other in an otherwise super busy day.

Plus, First Looks often create real and raw moments that are shared between you and your partner.

I’m gonna say it now, whoever ends up being in my wedding party know this: I love you, I trust you with my life, but I don’t trust you enough to do this to me on my wedding day.

That is all.

Also, they caught him, but it was most likely a close call as I had the guys do this a few times 😂

My name isn't actually "Portland Wedding Photographer" for those that are wondering, haha. It's Rick and I figured I'd introduce myself with some new facts that people might not know about when it comes to me! So here's to a Monday afternoon of y'all getting to know me.

1️⃣ I love watching baseball! One of my favorite things about having lived in Tacoma was being able to go to Rainier’s Games, but also how close I was so that I could go to Mariner’s Games!
2️⃣ I’m a 3w4 on the Enneagram.
3️⃣ I am a nerd for Excel. Love me a good spreadsheet!
4️⃣ My freckles came in much later in life, but have become a favorite thing about myself. My smile being the first.
5️⃣ I watched 9 Seasons of One Tree Hill with in 2.5 months. Majority of it being over FaceTime.
6️⃣ I usually know I’m sick before symptoms show up because I get this weird urge to bake stuff, haha.
7️⃣ I was that weird kid in 3rd grade who wanted to read the dictionary. I made it through the C’s before flat out giving up.
8️⃣ I would love for Taco Bell to cater my wedding, but I’m pretty sure that’ll have to be a decision that I make with the future husband.
9️⃣ As a kid I struggled saying my R’s (I know, pretty cruel given my name) and as an adult it sometimes resurfaces. In fact, I’ve got a coworker named Ryan Renwick and boy does his name trip me up here and there, haha.
🔟 I’m hella impulsive and lately I’ve really been leaning into it, which is why I have 15 tattoos now. It’s the year of reckless, but healthy, decisions!

I might be bias, but the grooms and groomsmen that I get to work with year after year are some of the best out there.
