Eleven years ago, we jumped off a cliff, risked our careers, left our cushy New York jobs and moved to a promised land called Portland, Oregon to hopefully open a restaurant of our own. Instead, we started two businesses to support the food and beverage communities we love.
Now, it’s time to go out like Seinfeld. We are closing Little Green Pickle. It’s time to let the next generation of talented PR people run the world. Genesis Burton and Lyndsay Dyk, our extraordinary managers, are both launching new PR businesses of their own - Genesis Mayorga with Que Chilero Group (https://www.quechileropdx.com/), and Lyndsay Field Dyk with Field Day PR (https://www.fielddaypr.com/). Our amazing assistant, Shannon Grady, is heading to Seattle, and we hope you all will connect with them in the future.
Carrie Welch is pursuing her dream of becoming a professor, Jannie Huang is going back in the kitchen with Just Cook Jannie (https://www.justcookjannie.com/). We have loved every moment of this part of our career and it’s time we see what’s next. You all have inspired us with your stories and how you’ve let us into your lives.
Follow your dreams.
Love,
Jannie and Carrie

We are a le***an-owned company, and we want to express our unwavering support for everyone in the Newberg community who is working to strike down the unnecessary and hurtful ban on Pride and Black Lives Matter signs in schools. It is hard enough growing up in a marginalized community, and the ban and resulting controversy only makes it harder for our kids. We support all of the allies working on the ground to encourage and protect the le***an, gay, bisexual, trans, q***r, and kids of color who should not only have the right to display whatever they want to display, but speak their minds and be heard.

Dinner outdoors was magical. The team has taken their beautiful, precious heart from inside the restaurant and is now sharing it all outside in a special experience that is only Urdaneta. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate with you again and the whole wonderful team.

These cool mornings have us thinking: it’s officially porchetta-on-the-patio season, baby! Oh, you’ve never heard of it? Well it’s kind of like PSL season, except you take your sensible boots and cozy layers down to and revel in the crisped, savory (w/just a touch of sweet) pork cut nestled under a bed of fresh greens and atop a bun, hand-made behind the butcher counter from pork raised humanely and sustainably at Piccone’s sister farm Wallow & Root. Trust us, this season is best celebrated alongside a crisp Italian-style Pilsner, no pumpkin spice necessary.
