Mid-Valley Development Professionals
MVDP has closed its doors and is partnering with Willamette Valley Development Officers to fulfill it
01/07/2021
A message to nonprofits leaders in the Mid-Valley:
In this time of ongoing crises and searching for solutions, the board of Mid-Valley Development Professionals shares this bittersweet message announcing the end of an era with our closure and an opportunity for our local nonprofits.
We are so grateful to MVDP Founder John Hawkins for his decades of dedication to serving our community and for creating a space for our local nonprofits to learn and thrive together. We are very proud of our history but even more, we’re grateful to and inspired by each of our members, both current and past, for all the tireless, life changing and saving services that you provide to our friends, families and neighbors of this very special place we call Mid-Valley and home.
It is with the mission alignment of MVDP and Willamette Valley Development Officers in mind that the board chose WVDO to fulfill its final programming, as both are committed to serve fundraising communities in Oregon. WVDO has agreed to extend introductory memberships to all nonprofits in our region for the 2021 session. WVDO has shown dedication to the health of our nonprofit communities in such trying times as these.
The agreement between MVDP and WVDO states that any non-profit professional based in the Mid-Valley, whether or not you have been a past MVDP member, will be eligible for a complimentary 12-month introductory membership through December 31, 2021.

Thank you to Grady Goodall for presenting our workshop last week! We had some networking time in the beginning, then covered various techniques to communicate and engage with volunteers and donors.

About Us
Mid-Valley Development Professionals (MVDP) serves professionals in Oregon’s Mid-Willamette Valley who raise funds for nonprofit organizations. MVDP links development professionals in the Salem-Keizer, Albany and Corvallis areas with others in the development community and provides affordable opportunities for professional growth and development.
Since holding its first general membership meeting in February 1998, MVDP has grown to more than 100 members. Our meeting topics are those of interest to nonprofit development officers, including planned giving, foundation grants, board development and motivation, special events, strategic planning, public relations and capital campaigns.
At our final MVDP meeting of 2018, the board of directors announced a partnership between MVDP and the Center for Nonprofit Stewardship (CNS). This partnership of our organizations begins with a one-year pilot in which CNS will develop and implement programming for our members.
CNS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Corvallis, OR that educates and empowers nonprofit boards, staff, and volunteers in sound financial, administrative and organizational stewardship.
