Opera a la Cart Season is upon us! Portland Opera is partnering with Portland Parks, local libraries, and wineries to bring free opera to you!
Inspired by Portland’s food cart culture, Opera a la Cart is a mobile performance venue that brings live opera performance directly into the community spaces where people gather. Designed and built by architecture students at Portland State University, the cart features a fold-out stage and a “menu” of operatic specials of the day to be sung by local artists.
*Most are free but please check the wineries’s websites for tickets.

Last Wednesday, hosted the Cascadia Creative Awards to highlight amazing people and their work. We concocted a plan with NextNW’s to surprise everyone with an OPERA FLASH MOB! Our chorus members were even given a back story of being part of a pseudo advertising agency so they could blend in. It was amazing to see all the shocked faces turn into smiles and laughs. Thanks for having us

Thanks to everyone who helped us fundraise to our goal of $1.5 mil for Phase 1 of our SOS Campaign, we broke tradition and announced our next season live at Verdi’s Requiem. What a way to close out the 2025-26 season! ✨ Our 2026-27 Season: DRIVEN BY MISSION includes stories of resilience, reinvention, and self-determination for those who refuse to be confined by expectations.
