In library Enrichment class this year, we are talking with 4th and 5th graders about how to be smart, safe, and responsible users of technology. We talked recently about how to have a good balance in their media lives. Here are some family tips!

Last week we read the book “My Pet Book” and then built or drew our own pets…including pet books, backpacks, snakes, and monsters with 3 eyes!

Kindergarteners share their favorite screen-free activities

2nd graders giving advice to the adults in their lives on how to avoid being distracted by screens!

1st graders choose their favorite “Digital Citizens”

3rd graders are learning about their digital footprints and made their ideal “selfies”

Kicking off Black History Month by reading “Beautiful Blackbird” and creating our own to decorate the library windows.

1st graders had a lesson on how different types of screen time make them feel and illustrated those feelings with some emoji stick puppets;)

In class, 4th graders are learning about animal defense mechanisms. In library, they imagined some other cool library adaptations.

At December's Community Dinner, parents learned about options for helping kids balance their media time.
